Fear of speaking

4 Ways To Conquer Your Fear Of Speaking & Selling

Are you fearful of public speaking or selling?

When I first got started my biggest issue was FEAR. Fear of public speaking and fear of selling. I overcame my fear and now speak to thousands of people and am a top leader in my company. Here are 4 tips to help you conquer fear.

Overcome Fear Of Speaking & Selling

There’s so many things that we don’t get in our lifetime. There’s so many things that we miss out on because of fear of just saying hello to somebody, shaking the hand of somebody, thinking about what people think about us. All those kind of things.

Here are some tips to help you overcome fear.

1. Set Your Mind On A Goal

First of all, make a decision. A decision that you are going to do it no matter what. Don’t care what people say and if they trust you or make fun of you.

Set big, humongous goals. Set humongous goals and have a BIG vision. Make your vision so big that it’s going to scare the people that are making fun of you. When you talk to them, they say, “Man, we don’t know what he’s drinking, what he’s on, but hoo” Then you go do it.

When you have those goals, it’s going to prepare you to get off of your table, out of your house and go talk to people.

Now if you’re a veteran, and you’ve been around for a while, get off your butt and go do something. Don’t make excuses because you know what to do. You just have to get up and go do it. Make big, huge goals.

2. Visualization

Second is use visualization. Look, you see a lot of professional sports athletes, professional athletes, elite athletes, and they talk about visualization all the time. Especially the Olympians. They talk about how they sit, and they see themselves having the success before they have the success. Guess what? It WORKS. You can use that in your business.

Don’t keep talking about the fear that you have as you have it still. Keep talking about it as in the past. You used to have the fear, but you don’t have it any more. That’s going to help you too.

I remember just getting started and wow, trying to go and make contacts. That was the worst. I’d come back home. I had a book called The Magic of Thinking Big. If you’ve never read that book, I’m telling you go get it and read it, The Magic of Thinking Big. I remember having that book, reading the book, getting excited, getting fired up. Then I’d go, “Today I’m going to go, and I’m going to go meet me some people.”

3.  Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone.

The third thing is to get out of  your comfort zone.  If you feel comfortable being in a group of people, get off of that group and go meet other people. Go to one of those meetings that they have all over the place.

Today there’s organizations. If you go on Google, and you search different meetings for different topics, you can find all kinds of groups all over the place that you can go and become a part of them Make friends and get out of your comfort zone because nothing that you want is in your comfort zone.

Nothing that you’re looking for is in your comfort zone. The lifestyle that you want, the dreams that you want, the things that you want to do in the future, the legacy that you want to leave, all of those things is on the other side of your comfort zone. Get out of your comfort zone.

If you’re very comfortable going to work, being at home, watching TV, listen, you can stay doing that. But if you want more, make it a point to get out of your comfort zone. Go out and do the things that are uncomfortable like talking to people and speaking. When you become good at the things that are now uncomfortable to you, then you’re going to have success.

When speaking to people became comfortable, when fear of trying to sell something became comfortable, when the fear of I don’t care what people say went away… Stuff started working. Was it easy? No. But was it worth it? ABSOLUTELY. I’m telling you if you can do those things, your fear will go away. Your business will start growing. You’re going to have success.

4. Look For A Mentor

The last thing is look for a mentor.

Look for somebody that you like and respect that has done what you’re looking to do. See if they can mentor you. See if they can give you the information that you’re looking for, that can help you have success.

If you are working with a team, look in your upline for the people that actually are working with you in your company. Because they’ll know better because they’re working with you. They have a vested interest in helping you become successful because you become successful, they become successful. Go find a role model, a mentor that you can model. Model their success to your success. Then you’re going to see your business grow.
